Waiting Room
BIG MEDIABOX
The young people involved in this project hope it will educate, inform and demystify the misconceptions surrounding autism in our society, and in turn promote tolerance, acceptance and a deeper understanding of an under represented life long disability. The films show that with a little patience, guidance and understanding, autistic teenagers can offer a unique perspective on life and have the ability and talent to be valuable members of our society.
John has a seemingly comical trip to the doctor, but all is not as it seems. He waits and waits but his name is never called, which results in misunderstandings and annoyance. With 'Waiting Room' John wanted to show how autistic people are funny but to some people they are just odd.
