‘This Is Me’ was funded through My Mediabox, which offers individual young people funding for a one-off media project, along with specialist production training.
An honest film depicting the life of Joanne Cairns, who suffers from the debilitating Leigh’s disease.
Joanne said about her film, “I wanted to make a permanent record of who I am and how I live before my disease advances to the point where I am permanently deprived of my remaining motor and communications abilities. The film shows me at home, out with family, and at my hospice.”
