The Mediabox and Channel 4's FourDocs Filmmaking Competition was launched in July 2007, and awarded 10 filmmakers £500 and support from an industry mentor to make their own film on a subject of their choice.
“Knife Crime” was a runner-up in the competition. Amienata Sillah, examines some of the reasons why young people carry a knife and the consequences it can have, a subject she’s very passionate about.
Amienata said about the process of making her film, “I enjoyed using the camera and putting my ideas into action, I feel a lot more experienced in media. I am very appreciative of the opportunity and just hope more young people use Mediabox.”
