enabled twenty 14-19 year olds to learn the skills and techniques needed to produce a high-end comic book.
The young people attended over 11 workshops, covering topics such as inking, portfolio development and design for print. Creating "Blob" enabled them to write their own stories, develop their illustrative skills and create a high quality comic. The final product is an excellent example of the burgeoning illustrative talent in the West Midlands.
The comic was launched at the BBC Mailbox public space in March 2008, drawing large crowds of comic fans and general public. The young people are keen to carry on the group and have decided to set up their own comic collective.
