Graphic Truths - Tales of Diversity

Eastside Educational Trust delivered a print project with 16 – 19 year olds from BME backgrounds to create a comic magazine that addresses the lack of diversity in publishing. The participants recruited had an existing interest in art, media or journalism and throughout the project learned about the process of producing a magazine, explored graphic reportage and created comics from interviews that they conducted on their chosen subjects. The group produced distinctive pieces on diverse subjects and in a variety of styles and the final magazine, ‘Tales of Diversity’ was produced in December 2009.
