Keeping the Peace
As part of the ‘Community Film Showcase’ project, this film looks at some of the problems within the Sloughs community and how most have been handled with the active involvement of the community itself.
Dudley Weeks, International Peacekeeper, arrived in Slough ten years ago to provide an answer to the conflict experienced by the Muslim, Sikh and Hindu communities. ‘AIk Saath’ was a group set up at the time to help with long term peacekeeping. The group wanted to show the developments since Weeks’ visit in the form of a documentary.
The documentary’s contains an interview with Selmah Chaudhary, a founding member of ‘Aik Saath’, who has now developed a career in youth work.
