Canute - Radio Project

Canute was a youth-led three-part radio programme presented by disadvantaged young people aged 13 - 19 from Suffolk. The project aimed to counter the problem of erosion along the Suffolk coast, by raising awareness of the causes of global warming and coastal erosion, as well posing potential solutions to the community. The programme not only provided young people with a platform to get their voices heard but also enabled them to acquire new skills and develop their self-esteem.
James Holloway, who helped with the project, said, “The young people want to raise awareness to what is a bigger threat than things like the credit crunch. In other words they want a say and this much is just a starter.”
