Expectations

BIG MEDIABOX
During the summer of 2007, Superkrush Films, in conjunction with Save the Children, organised a series of drama and film workshops that were turned into three short-films, working with young asylum seekers (KUMASI) and Refugees (Brighter Futures) from Newcastle Upon Tyne and Middlesbrough. The young people wored directly on the project and were able to produce films that aid in understanding their marginalised and often misunderstood section of society.

'Expectations' inverts the perception of Zimbabwean refugees by examining the dichotomy of the imagined Britain and the reality of the country when they finally arrive on its shores.
